It goes without saying that human development has been shaped by people of great renown across a wide spectrum of endeavors – the sciences, arts, technology, sociology, and others. History is replete with records of the names, distinguishing characteristics, and notable deeds of the people who have contributed to the advancements our world enjoys today. In many circles, such people are regarded as the “Who’s Who” of their communities, representing the most prominent, influential, or powerful people within those specific fields. Several widely circulated publications exist that capture interesting details of such individuals and their remarkable accomplishments.1
As elitist as the concept may seem, the Bible (which is the original and most striking proponent of egalitarianism) makes no bones about presenting its own list of “Who’s Who,” the most acclaimed of which are Heaven’s Hall of Famers, described in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews with great inspiration, gallantry, and aplomb. Another slant, reflected by a line of rhetorical questioning, gives the reader and recipients of those well-deserved accolades a reason to ponder a more substantial perspective. Allow me to share this abridged record, culled from the Source’s pages.

Who compares to You among the gods, O Lord? No one is like You, majestic in holiness, awe-inspiring in power, the great wonder-worker!2
Who can be compared with the Lord our God WHO is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump … 3
Who can speak and make things happen when the Lord has not permitted it?4
To whom will you compare Me? Who is My equal?” asks the Holy One. Look up into the heavens. WHO created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of His great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.5
Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give Him advice? Who has given Him so much that He needs to pay it back?6
… Who is like you in all of heaven above or on the earth below? You keep Your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before You in wholehearted devotion. You have kept Your promise to your servant David, my father. You made that promise with Your own mouth, and with Your own hands you have fulfilled it today7
Who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord? What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround His throne. O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as You, O Lord? You are entirely faithful.8
Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be His? God Himself is the Judge who has issued His final verdict over them —‘Not guilty! Who then is left to condemn us?9
Lord, there is no one like You! For You are great, and Your name is full of power. Who would not fear You, O King of nations? That title belongs to You alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You.10
Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.11

People who become prominent in their fields rightly deserve honor and applause for all their great contributions. However, the most noteworthy Contributor and Influencer is the One Who Created all things, gives wisdom, skill, and creativity, and powers all existence and growth. He is the “WHO of all Whos” and deserves the highest recognition for all human achievements. The God of the universe and of the Lord Jesus Christ is the indisputable, incomparable “WHO“!
A wise woman once recognized this and said,
“The success of any great endeavor or enterprise is only partially dependent on the visionary ideas, innovations, industry, efforts, persons, and principles employed, but wholly contingent on the benevolence of the One from Whom all these flow.”12
