” … we speak of the mystery of God … ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him!’ But God has revealed these things to us by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets!‘” (1 Corinthians 2:7-10)
Perhaps your world of adventurous discovery involved the likes of Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, James Bond, Jason Bourne, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Secret Seven, The Famous Five, and Tintin, among others. Cryptic messages, confounding clues, compelling cues, curious codes, and uncommon cures were all confined to the world of fantasy. Imagine enjoying the services of a Secret Agent, one whose services yield 100% accuracy, mastery, and satisfaction, guaranteed. But more on that in a moment.
In our last encounter, we discussed the intriguing nature of God and the fact that He invites us into a deepening relationship with Him so we can unravel the wonders of His person, promises, and projections for our future. We alluded to the fact that mutual interest progressively blossoms into friendship, a deepening relationship, and ultimately, intimacy in successive levels, and such is the case with God. Today, we want to examine a few of His many secrets hidden in plain sight.
Place
God has a secret place to which He likes to rendezvouz. That secret place is YOU – spending time with Him in sweet camaraderie!1 We see a prototypical example of this in the book of Genesis, where He made it a habit to walk through the beautiful garden He had created in the evenings so He could meet up with Adam and Eve to spend time together,2 and with others like Abraham, Moses, David3 etc. If it doesn’t blow your mind that the self-existing, all-sufficient Creator of the Universe humbles Himself4 to come spend time with mere mortals (should the mutual agreement exist), I don’t know what will!
Plan
God has a secret plan, and that plan involves YOU. Our theme verse gives the perfect tell-all: He has prepared great things for His people; He has amazing surprises for all who respond to His invitation to a genuine relationship!5 He has a customized life plan for each one of us,6 which He reveals to those who love and passionately pursue Him.7
Provision
God has secret provisions, and they are all for YOU! He stockpiles hidden riches in secret places,8 granting exclusive access to His lovers. These riches transcend stocks and bonds, retirement investments, social networks, education, and physical or intellectual property, but encompass all things that make life worth living9 and worthy of emulation,10 both now and in the life to come.
Power
God has secret power available to YOU. It is your secret sauce of success, the modus operandi that is privately communicated to you in the unique blueprint of your life. This secret lies untapped and potentially wasted when you are unconnected to your true power Source – God, the SuperPower of all super powers!
This is clearly displayed in Samson’s life. God’s great plan for His life required precision living. He and his mom were given a prescription for success tailored to the great exploits he was to accomplish11. When he violated these through carelessness and carousing, he paid the dear price of life and destiny forfeiture,12 but played a final part in the plan by taking out the enemy with God’s help and mercies while he was going down!13 Similarly, John the Baptist’s parents were given customized instructions on how to maximize his potential and destiny assignment.14 In both instances, the secret of their strength and success lay in following the tailored operations their lives uniquely required, but which could only be accessed through an abiding intimacy with God.15
Personal Investigator/Informant

Most people never imagine that they will require the services of a Private Investigator in their lifetime, let alone have direct access to the greatest of all time. People who have intimacy with God through Jesus Christ enjoy this privilege, although few fully understand or leverage it. The Holy Spirit is the head of the executive arm of God’s government and operates in multifaceted ways. He enforces heaven’s edicts and executes its plans. He certifies and secures results for all whose lives are intertwined with His. He performs this latter task by serving as a personal or Private Investigator and Informant.16 As an active and principal participant in all the strategic ongoings of heaven’s Oval Office, He is privy to everything in existence since His realm controls the universe and beyond. He reveals heaven’s classifieds and unbeatable game plan to people in a close relationship with Him when they need strategic information or a winning advantage. Such people always wind up holding the final trump card, 17 because the greatest Private Informant is in their corner (and also happens to be their appointed Counselor and Life Coach)!18
Friend, God’s delectable secrets are waiting to be unraveled to YOU, the most significant and beneficial of which is personal access to your multifaceted Chief Informant – The Holy Spirit. He is the One through Whom you access all the secrets discussed and many more! He gives God’s ardent lovers (God seekers19 or friends of God20) cutting-edge leverage, as they have God’s ear, heart, and up-to-date access to crucial destiny information. They enjoy a quality of living reflective of that critical flow of highly curated, ethereal intelligence!

So … get with the program,21 plan, and every other secret delight God has stored up for you! PUT YOUR PI TO WORK THIS YEAR by pressing into intimacy with Him!22
