Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? (John 4:35)
September spiritually represents birthing, harvest, fruitfulness, productivity, bounty, multiplication, replication, and abundance, given that it is the ninth month of the year. It should inspire a sense of anticipation and expectation in anyone who has diligently made investments over time, particularly lovers of Jesus who are rightly and actively in a relationship with Him and who live by His principles because these have the added advantage of supernatural equipment to overcome barriers to an abundant harvest. Such persons will reap dividends from investments made in the prior months (and years). Such dividends will manifest in the areas where the investments were made, i.e. spiritual, physical, relational, financial, academic, professional, etc. You cannot reap where you have not sown, nor can you produce what was not planted, e.g., you do not plant orange or corn seeds to reap apple trees or spinach, nor can you breed cats and produce dogs. You cannot reap kindness and favor if all you have planted is cruelty and ill will (and vice versa).
Sowing and reaping is a universally known and applied law, traversing the spiritual and physical worlds and permeating every strata and aspect of life. Most people understand that there are consequences to each choice they make; indeed, for every action, there is an equal and (in this case) composite reaction, positive or negative. The Bible underscores the origins of this law quite clearly,1 and qualifies the dimensions of one’s harvest as being directly proportionate to the dimensions of the investments made.2 Indeed, we reap what and where we have sown, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
It is important to know, understand, and apply this truth in destiny’s implementation, for contemplation produces assimilation, which results in expectation (anticipation), which in turn compels manifestation (tangible fulfillment). A woman one day pregnant knows beyond every shadow of a doubt that the seed sown in her will result in a baby, regardless of her flattened tummy in the initial phase. She may have no other physical proof of her pregnancy at that time, other than a fallible test which indicates so. Her growing belly further substantiates the guaranteed physical appearance of that product until it manifests. All things being equal, the seeds sown in the various areas of our lives are proof of a future harvest and should inspire a growing expectation of the visible results to come. A person who is unintentional about investing or is careless and clueless about building expectations may fail to reap a harvest simply because these attitudes predispose him to the weeds, wild animals, unfavorable weather, and other harsh conditions with a propensity to strangle and steal the harvest.3
Are you pregnant with purpose and expectation, fully persuaded that those investments you have made in targeted areas of your life are about to yield their rich dividends? Solomon repeatedly encourages us in this wise, assuring us that our expectations will not fail or fall short.4 Remember that like other universal laws, sowing and reaping cannot be circumvented; it MUST bring about tangible blessings in your life in their season of harvest, especially if you are in an active and right relationship with Jesus Christ (which positions you to confront and conquer anything that could rise to challenge your influx). Understand that consistent seasons of investments in the various areas of life will result in continuous cycles of gleaning. The grace activated by consistency results in an unending succession of bountiful results!5 Your harvest of answered prayers, spiritual breakthrough, financial increase, relational harmony, career advancement, physical wellbeing and abundance, etc., IS HERE!
“Your visitations of glory bless the earth; the rivers of God overflow and enrich it. You paint the wheat fields golden as you provide rich harvests. Every field is watered with the abundance of rain— showers soaking the earth and softening its clods, causing seeds to sprout throughout the land. You crown the earth with the fruits of your goodness. Wherever you go, the tracks of your chariot wheels drip with oil.” (Psalm 65:9-11; TPT)
“You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.” (Psalm 65:11; NKJV)
